I’m Cían Sutton. I am a product design graduate with a passion for designing everyday products that blend and seamlessly embed themselves in a user's daily routine and life. I have a passion for human-centered design, building physical products that are built to last and easy to maintain.
Themes of human behaviour shape my work, and I am drawn to products that serve and solve a practical need. My approach balances function with sensitivity. Whether designing for urban spaces, well-being or inclusive use, I focus on how form, function and interaction can create products that feel natural and encouraging to use.
A functional piece of jewellery designed to provide safe sensory and tactile stimulation while helping users consciously redirect harmful, repetitive habits such as nail-biting, hair-pulling, and skin-picking. These behaviours are often carried out subconsciously and can lead to long-term physical damage, emotional distress, and reduced confidence, leaving users feeling frustrated and powerless when trying to stop.
Kova offers a non-harmful outlet for the sensory and physical stimulation often sought through these habits. The body is shaped to sit comfortably within the hand and can be used to massage sensitive areas in the palm, providing calming tactile feedback. A secondary fingertip ring attaches to the finger and is designed to tap rhythmically against the main form, encouraging repetitive movement in a controlled and soothing way. The ring can also be worn on its own as everyday jewellery. Together, the pieces create a discreet, wearable tool that supports sensory substitution, helping users replace damaging repetitive habits with calming, intentional movement.
