Construct

Take time to reflect
Compose
Direct a sentence towards truth
A dialogue morphed into a structure
A print that morphed into a sculpture
Language like a light A mere reflection
A glimpse A fragment of the unknown
Something that was both is and was a space
Grew the print
A fragment of a place
Like materials words hold weight
Compose
A forgotten sentence
Forgets the passage it was told
Shield what was forgotten
Allow it to grow
Time always ticking
For that be towards things that are sold
Shaking towards a tree
The building would unfold

“Construct” is a constant discourse between the print, industrial material, language, light. These works aim to speak about the labour of construction through expansive print forms. The Gestural flow of materials speaks to the bodies movement, pace, flexibility and strength as volume and weight become agents. The material becomes a spatial-temporal exploration. They are fragile and porous forms whilst maintaining their utilitarian past as they take on new characteristics. The role of the print operates as a system to place the materials into an intrinsic discourse. The material is a construct of solidity, on its own without the support of other industrial material it is a poetic exploration of alternative forms of space. The body is a machine that determines the physicality of the forms. A haptic encounter translates the self.
