She Sells Sea Shells
For my end of year project, I decided to do an editorial fashion shoot for Stellar magazine. I was inspired by current trends which heavily reference imagery, textures and objects found along the seashore. While researching SS19 shows, I took inspiration from designers such as Jacquemus, Altuzarra and Rejina Pyo, styling light summer layers using clothes from affordable high street shops to appeal to the magazine's reader. I drew my colour palette from tones found around the harbour in fishing equipment, boats and even the harbour walls themselves. Using woven textures, rope accessories and shell-like jewellery to relate to the surroundings, this also showcased the current sea trends, creating cohesion through each look. ‘She Sells Sea Shells’ embodies the idyllic summertime escape to a slow-paced lifestyle.
