COMMUNI:QUAY
The aim of this project was to re-design a building into a home for young adult professionals. I chose the Citi Bank building located on North Wall Quay for its ideal location in Dublin’s city centre. The main goal of this project was to build a community of like-minded young professionals and provide them with the perfect central home in which they can flourish.
The idea for this project came about due to the current lack of suitable and affordable housing accommodation within the city centre. COMMUNI:QUAY is designed to offer amenities such as a swimming pool, a gym and a collaborative workspace, all of which are open to the public on a membership basis, in order to allow for a creative process to develop organically. On the upper floors, there are apartments that are limited to residents use only. The concept for this project was developed based on the shape of older-styled keys. The key represents the security provided by the idea of the home and is represented throughout the building's design. The style is fun and unique–a perfect living community for young adults.
