The aim of this project was to help users improve their quality of sleep, through control of lighting. The device will fade to darkness before sleep, and fade to bright light before waking in the morning. Reducing levels of artificial light in the evening increases melatonin production in the brain, which helps with sleep, and slowly increasing light in the morning makes waking more gradual, and comfortable. The light should mimic the natural cycle of day and night.
