Micro Catch
When synthetic clothing is washed microplastic fibres are released into the watercourses, leading to a high morbidity rate of aquatic life. The microplastics are then passed up the food chain for human consumption. “Micro Catch” is a filtration system to help mitigate against microplastics entering the wastewater network and ultimately, the watercourses. The filtration system seamlessly fits into the user’s domestic washing machine pipe system capturing the synthetic microplastic fibres, while also allowing the washing machine effluent water to pass through.
