Wood Burning Backpacking Stove

The aim of this project was to design a product for a backpacker that is light and compact, that would allow the user to prepare their food on the go while following the ‘leave no trace’ principle and without putting themselves or the environment in danger. The stove itself uses bio-fuel, sticks, twigs and pine-cones as the main fuel source which means that the user does not need to bring fuel with them on a trip, allowing them to save space and weight in their backpacks. Other forms of fuel like hexamine tablets and alcohol can also be used. Users can enjoy a legally made campfire that can boil water, fry and cook food. The way the stove works is by gasification where the air enters the stove through the bottom air intake holes, fuels the fire from underneath as well as warm air coming between the double walled assembly and re-entering the burn chamber through the top holes, creating a secondary burn which gives out a smokeless and efficient fire.
