Dog Friendly Hotel
The building that I chose to use for my final year project is Hubspot house, 1 Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin Docklands. This project is a designed proposal of a dog friendly hotel in the heart of Dublin City. The location of this hotel has so much to offer, directly across the road is the stunning River Liffey, many parks to enjoy walks and off leash time, plenty of tourist attractions and a huge variety of pubs, restaurants, and nightclubs.
In the past two years pet ownership has increased greatly due to the pandemic. Although traveling abroad was on hold for quite some time staycations became a new popular option for people wanting to have a few nights away from home. One striking detail that has arisen, is how popular the ‘pet-friendly' filter has become on travel sites. It is becoming increasingly common for people to spoil their dogs and what better way to do this than a lovely weekend trip to a dog friendly hotel and spa.
The entire space was designed with durability, slip resistance, stain and moisture resistance and comfort in mind while keeping a modern and luxurious finish to it. The hotel will include a dog friendly Bar and restaurant with seating that incorporates a quiet private space for each dog, the lobby is a large open plan area with teared flooring making an exciting space for dogs to explore, there is also private booth seating for more nervous dogs that guests can sit in and enjoy some tea while watching what is going on around them. There is a doggy spa where fury guests can be booked in for a day of grooming and pampering while the owners take a trip to the spa for a treatment of choice, Doggy day care is provided to allow guests to explore Dublin City or simply have some time to themselves. Each room is equipped with a welcome package which contains a comfortable dog bed, personalised dog bowls and some treats, the room also includes a built-in dog bed that has a gate for privacy and an indoor potty area to save guests from having to leave the Comfort of their room to bring their dog to the toilet. This unique hotel experience will excite and attract many friendly and fury guests.
