My display, titled ‘Colour Energy,’ was installed at Brown Thomas, Dublin. I investigated WGSN’s Spring/Summer 2022 fashion trend forecast entitled ‘Euphoric’ to aid concept development. Euphoric embodies the juxtaposition of delicate materials and timeless tailoring bursting with zesty summer neon and mood-boosting colour stories. As a trend, Europhic allows us to channel our inner child and feel limitless creativity. I drew my inspiration from the feeling of freedom that we all finally feel this summer. I wanted my display to express the zingy electric feeling of walking into a brightly coloured new life of liberation and opportunity that we have all longed for in a post covid world. I created an original vinyl backdrop using photography and editing my images in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and I needed to capture the exact feeling I was trying to portray. I used re-purposed corrugated plastic to create the props in my design, ensuring I used sustainable methods to complete the procedure. I was fortunate to exhibit my display for Brown Thomas in their flagship store in Dublin. Working alongside iconic fashion labels such as Dries Van Noten and Loewe, I drew inspiration for this display from their S/S 22 lines.
